Kenadi Grace

                                         Brand new baby!

I realize I haven't updated this blog in quite a while.  Since October, we've been busy.  

Kenadi Grace was born December 6th at 4:22 in the morning.  After spending the weekend in the hospital, we brought her home on Dec 10th.  It has been so nice to be at home with her for the past 3 weeks.  

Kenadi spent her first Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma Quirk's house!  After sleeping through half of the Christmas Eve church service, she decided to make her presence known and we had to slip out and watch the rest of the service from the lobby of the church. After church we enjoyed dinner, baked cookies for Santa, and watched 'Its a Wonderful Life' with the fam.  Christmas morning, we headed to Grandma Smith's house to open presents, then over to Grandma and Grandpa Quirk's for lunch.  Kenadi spent most of the day in her usual routine...eating, sleeping, then eating some more.  Here are some pics of her first Christmas.

a new addition to our family...

About 2 months ago, Troy went with my family to College Station.  I had to work that day, so I didn't make the trip.  When I came home the next morning from my 24 hour call I was met by the newest addition to our growing family...a little german short-haired pointer.  After much debate, we decided to name him Dietz...which really fits his personality, even though he doesn't seem to respond to it quite yet.  I'm not quite sure how he'll handle having a baby in the house.

Getting started...

Its hard to believe its almost September!  This year has flown by!  

In March, Troy and I found out we'd be staying close to home for the next four years while I'm in residency.  Troy quit his job in Dallas and got a job working for Charles Schwab so we could actually live together.   God has blessed us so much in our first year of marriage!  We were able to buy our first house this summer and in April we found out we'll be adding to our family...a little girl due in early December.  

The first couple months of pregnancy were rough...the term "morning" sickness is definitely a misnomer. I definitely have more compassion for my patients when they complain about nausea. But all that subsided and the past few months have been much kinder.  I don't know where the room inside my tummy will come from for our little girl to grow...and I still have 15 weeks to go!
